Howdy!

I’m Shannon, the heart behind Tater Trots Riding School! Horses have been a part of my life for as long as I can remember—I started riding as a little kid and never really stopped. For the last 10 years, I’ve been lucky enough to share my life with horses every single day, and they’ve become more than just animals to me—they’re family.

One of my greatest joys has been teaching my stepkids to ride. Watching their confidence grow in the saddle, seeing them master new skills, and feeling their excitement around horses lit a spark in me: I realized how much I love helping kids discover the magic of riding! That passion is what inspired me to start Tater Trots Riding School.

Here, it’s all about making riding fun, safe, and confidence-building. I believe the barn should feel like a second home—a place where kids can laugh, learn, and fall in love with horses just like I did. Whether it’s teaching the basics of horsemanship, cheering on a wobbly first trot, or celebrating little victories, I pour my heart into every lesson.

Tater Trots isn’t just a riding school—it’s where little equestrians begin their journey, and where I get to share my love of horses (and teaching) with the next generation.
